Our romantic log cabin, designed for only 2, sits on the shore of it's own 3.5 acre lake on 85 acres of land which insures TOTAL PRIVACY.
Your closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away!
The cabin has a lovely stone fireplace (wood provided) and a picture window overlooking the covered front porch and the lake. There is a fully equipped kitchen as well as outdoor coopking facilities which include a gas grill and a separate fieldstone charcoal BBQ.
You can dine indoors in front of the picture window or outdoors at picnic tables on the stone patio or at lake's edge near the dock.
In season you will find a fresh herb garden for your use in 15 large flower pots along the edge of the dock area.
We offer you the use of a rowboat and inflatable boats and loungers for enjoying the lake. Bring your own fishing gear as the lake is stocked with large mouth bass.
There are hammocks and hanging chairs scattered about as well as benches along the marked hiking trails.
The property has been described as "high quality forest habitat" by experts and is very interesting to explore!
Inside the cabin you will find satellite TV, DVD, VHS, board games, and books. There is a comfortable queen sized sofa bed with memory foam mattress.
Along one side of the cabin you will see a wildlife feeding area and will be able to enjoy the antics of the many birds, turkeys, and deer that come by to visit.
We are centered between the historic and interesting towns of Rhinebeck, Hyde Park, Millbrook, Red Hook, and Pine Plains in Dutchess County with their many fine restaurants, historic mansions and museums, and the beautiful countryside. Also close to Bard College, Omega Institute, Culinary Institute of America, and the Olde Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
